In plain words

Analyze the small shakes in the picture and move against them to cancel them out, cropping the edges a little to make the footage smooth.

When to use it

AI clips with unintended shake, and cuts that should be locked-off but tremble slightly.

In AI video, like this

If the shake bothers you, it is cleaner to first regenerate with a locked-off instruction in the prompt, like "locked-off tripod shot". To fix it in editing, use Premiere Pro's Warp Stabilizer or Resolve's Stabilizer. In ffmpeg, use deshake, which is included by default, or, if your build has libvidstab, the 2-pass vidstabdetect and vidstabtransform. Stabilizing crops and enlarges the edges, so the picture gets slightly larger and quality drops. In AI clips where the background changes a little from frame to frame, the tracking can wobble and cause a warping distortion, so play the result all the way through.

One-click prompt

Calm small unwanted hand shake in a clip with the built-in deshake filter: ffmpeg -i shaky.mp4 -vf deshake=rx=32:ry=32 -c:a copy out.mp4. Crop in about 4 percent afterward to hide the filled edges, and if it still wobbles, regenerate the shot with a locked-off tripod instruction and watch the result for warped backgrounds.
